How to Tell if Your Orlando Pool May Be Leaking

Orlando's summer sun and constant breeze cause every uncovered pool to lose water to evaporation — typically a quarter inch per day, sometimes more on windy weeks. Before you consider a leak detection specialist, take 24 hours to check whether it's just evaporation.

The bucket test is the standard approach. Fill a 5-gallon bucket with pool water, place it on the top step so it's partially submerged, mark the water level inside the bucket and on the pool wall, then compare after 24 hours (with the pump running normally).

If both drop by a similar amount, evaporation is the likely cause. If the pool drops noticeably more, a leak is possible — consider scheduling professional electronic leak detection.
